Lois Golbeck Leads Panel Discussion

On October 30, Lois Golbeck, senior vice president and shareholder of Gillham, Golbeck & Associates, moderated a panel discussion on the recruiting and retention of Generation Y professionals in commercial property management. This well-received presentation was made at the Dallas IREM fall seminar, “LEEDing to Results.”

Ms. Golbeck presented research on the characteristics of Generation Y and what they want from the workplace. The IREM attendees were then invited to question three young professionals interested commercial real estate and property management. Panelists included Mollie Duban (a recruiting associate at Gillham, Golbeck), Michael Formanek (a graduating SMU student) and Kailey Ngang, (an assistant property manager).

Results of a Businessweek survey on how companies are successfully retaining their young employees were also presented by Ms. Golbeck.
